We have the experience of strengthening three Regional Health
and Family Welfare Training Centers in Madhya Pradesh i.e.
Gwalior, Jabalpur and Indore under Danida Project. The infrastructure
was strengthened and the faculty was trained in pedagogy.
As a result, these centers are vibrant and functioning effectively.
Institute of Health Management Research, Bangalore can assist
the states in designing a state and district level training
institute. We can train the faculty of training institutes
in training methods or pedagogy. The emphasis will be on
participatory and skill based/ hands on training. Depending
on the needs of the deptt. they may carry out the trainings
with the support of subject experts. One mobile training
team may also be experimented, who may move from institution
to institution and identify the training needs of functionaries,
impart hands on training and make periodic follow ups. The
mobile teams would provide valuable feedback to the health
directorate.
